Ruler of the nerds! This case came with the 2015 patch around my birthday at the end of August that year. It’s perfect for toting a few pencils, and it’s now improved by the addition of each edition of patches from C W Pencil Enterprise. I don’t know what to do next year. I love this little case.
I find that I am often a black notebook kind of person — maybe something brown or grey. I’ve taken to carrying colorful writing tools in days when my brain feels grey iself. Not sure if it helps.
Anyone else match (or contrast) your gear to your mood?
I am looking forward to less humid AM writing sessions when summer finally hits the road. The weather-proof nature of pencil is well suited to such outdoor endeavours though. Coffee spills and sweaty hands are no match for this stable carbon.
Just last week, someone called this site a “shill” blog on a certain platform. I’m not sure why writing about things we like makes us shills. We could write a lot about what we don’t like, but I’d get bored doing that here. I’m negative enough in real life! Is there a sense that this blog’s opinions are paid for or less-than-honest because we don’t generally post negative reviews? (Yes, we’re really asking — use a fake name if you want.)
Edit: Thank you so much for the kind words! If folks have some…critical things to say, we’d like to hear that too!
The Harvard Museum of Natural History is one of my favorite places to visit in Massachusetts. Its old school charm is wonderful, set against today’s high-tech museum-going experiences.
Aside from the famous glass flowers and kid friendly paleontological exhibits, they have a great selection of gems and minerals. Of course they have graphite!
It is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Cambridge. It’s also not far from Bob Slate. Just saying.
Travel essentials. Found this tiny address book for taking on trips. With stamps and a pencil, my postcard game will be strong.
I should be packing, but playing with both tools and pencils to help a family member get their pool open for the season is more fun.
I’m sitting here doing a little dance over this news. I wonder if a brass Masterpiece could be in the works. That might be the perfect sharpener.
While we’re finishing up our review of The Deep, check out this lovely blue with the bright Blackwing 811.
Holy crap, a pen!
If you noticed that this site was down between late Thursday and late Friday, that is because we moved to a new host. Thank you for your patience and for the messages of concern. We’ll be back to a publication schedule which is more frequent than usual this week.
